The place to eat in Jerusalem

The portions are large, so share. Always start with the bread and the dips. For dessert, the Shechem Gate is phenominal. Make a reservation, this place is popular with the locals.

One of the best restaurants I know

he restaurant serves a superb and satisfying menu. The investment in the appearance of the dishes served to the table is felt and the wonderful taste completes the enjoyment of the food. This is the second time I have eaten in this restaurant and the experience is just wonderful

I ate here last night with friends. Other friends arrived and told us about the closing, in 30 days! They are merging with their branch: Medita, on Derech Hevron. My friends began with the Roasted Chicken liver, on a bed of Cauliflower cream with a few small thin slices of roasted smoked goose breast. They enjoyed the livers but were not crazy about the cream. Cost: about $16. I ordered the same dish as my main course - but when it was served to me it looked like they ran out of the cream, as I got just a teaspoon under each piece of the liver. The 2 small thin slices of roasted smoked goose breast were so dried out, they were inedible. As my appetizer, I had the well dressed endive salad with arugula, pear and sugar glazed walnuts. I enjoyed it very much - yet there could have been a few more slices of pear in it. Cost: about $15 My friends both ordered the entrecote steak with french fries. They were surprized when the steaks were served with a bunch of greens on top, as if hiding something. They forgot to request service on real plates instead of wooden boards. The french fries did not arrive at the same time - which was disappointing. Cost per portion: about $40 My friends also shared a side salad that was "OK". Cost: about $5 We felt satiated enough not to order desserts. Perhaps in the other location, more attention will be paid to the upkeep and service. Here, the leather-like covered bench where I sat, was split in several places. The black painted tables were so chipped - making them unsightly. My friend commented on how much more pleasant it would have been had there been table-cloths on the tables. We hope that the owners will heed our recommendations for a better experience and wish them good luck at their other location on Derech Hevron.
