Food was solid and we had a fine time. Space was a bit tight so not sure I would recommend for a group over 10. Service was solid and there was a good sized line when we left.

Hatzot Steak House (Midnight Steak House) is well known as the place where the famous “Jerusalem mixed grill” was created. This dish is a unique mix of meats (including internal organs) and a secret spice mix that gives the food its unique colors, aromas and delectable flavors not to be found anywhere else.
Founded in 1970 by two brothers, Abraham and Michael Ajami, this kosher steak house has become a cornerstone of Jerusalem’s culinary culture. Hatzot is now run by the second generation of the Ajami family and recently underwent a facelift that combines the ambiance of the Mahane Yehuda Market with a retro design while preserving the warmth and welcoming atmosphere of its earlier years.
Hatzot Steak House is a wonderful meeting point for groups touring Mahane Yehuda or the neighborhood Nachlaot. Customers will find professional service combined with an authentic local atmosphere. The restaurant also offers a private room great for bar mitzvah celebrations after the Western Wall, private dinners and other events.
The place is wheelchair accessible.

MoreThe food was good but they discriminate against couples when both don't order a main dish. If only one person orders the main dish and the other orders, for example, an appetizer, then you must pay 20 shekels extra to get the mezze salad plates. Yet, a single person ordering a main dish gets the mezze of salads even though that person is by themselves. We weren't fully aware of this when we ordered and were told we would have to pay the 20 extra shekels because only one of us ordered a main course. We thought that it was simply because two people had to order main dishes to get the free mezze. We were astonished when the single man sitting next to us got the mezze at no extra charge. We even ordered cocktails and this person did not, yet we were forced to pay 20 extra shekels. When I pointed this out to the manager he told us this was the policy and arrogantly walked away. There are not so good restaurants in the city and I'll not go back to this one.
LessI can’t get over how delicious the chicken breast is here. It is truly unbelievable - perfect texture and tasty spices. The pita and hummus appetizer is excellent as well. Hatzot is well worth your while! Make a reservation beforehand.
