Great restaurant we just stumbled upon
TripAdvisor RatingReviewed 2 days ago

We were walking back from the market and found this restuarant w/ outdoor seating. Service was lovely and food was great. had the artichokes and tortellini. Portions were big enough to share. Highly recommend

The best burger and excellent carpaccio!

After a long trip from Italy we arrived late and starving at our hotel, across the street. We orderd artichokes, carpaccio and a burger. Very, very good and tasty!

Very Pleasant

I ate at Menza twice last time I was in Jerusalem. The first time I was alone and had the salad nicoise. I did not find the place attractive and was not crazy about the salad - maybe because I am not used to seared tuna but the canned type. (So my bad. Not theirs!) The service however was excellent. The second time we were a party of 6, including two small children. The service was excellent again, both in Hebrew and English, which the waitress skillfully managed, describing specials and getting all the orders perfectly. My husband and I shared a fatoush salad and after seeing the kids' huge and delicious looking schnitzel and chips ordered the same. It was just a great, tasty meal. Our friends shared a grilled fish and salad and they said it was great also. The wine, recommended by our server, was a good choice. I also found the place, in the light and full of diners, a really hip, cheerful atmosphere. I am glad I gave Menza a second chance and would definitely return on another trip to Jerusalem.

I love this place! The young wait staff is great. They have lovely personalities and also give great service! If you sit outside under an umbrella for a couple hours they keep you served. They check on you and make you feel welcome. They have very good and very healthy food. I had the Entrecôte steak here once as a splurge and it was the best steak I have ever eaten! They have nice sandwiches and salads, too. Mostly I just stopped there because it was hot and wanted to lol off. I mean, I didn't always have a meal. Sometimes I just had French fries and a couple very nice cold beers! The kids would see me coming and say "French fries and a beer?" They have a bar that serves beer, wine, and hard liquor. M you can sit inside or outside. The street is interesting. Lots of foot traffic at times, in case you are a people watcher like me. This is a bonus.... They are open on Shabbat! On Shabbat everything closes down. This place is a secular restaurant and they do not close on Shabbat. It is good to know where you can eat on Shabbat with so many places being closed. By the way....their hamburgers are great, too. I guarantee you will love it here. I have been to Jerusalem many times and this is a place I always go back to. It is near the top of Ben Yehuda and King George Street... Just up two blocks, to the left two blocks, Hillel Street

Don't waste your money'

Don't waste your time and more so your money! The menu is way overpriced, limited and with bizarre interpretation of the standard "mozzarella salad", or "fattoush one" etc. The chef put no dressing on my salad and the waitress had the nerve to lie. The items offered on the menu are not all available, eclectic items are and not much to choose from. This place wants to be everything but they don't have the quality, variety or class to support the in-exorbitant prices to support it. There are so many more places to choose from! Oh and in the end the waitress had the nerve to ask us to write a good review online! Wow!
