The restaurant is located in a beautiful old building and has a great atmosphere. There is a real difference between the dish as described on the menu, and what you actually receive. Lots of fussy ingredients when I think that with quality products, simple is best. It is hard for the diner to figure out how to put together a multi course coherent meal. Definitely save room for dessert-- they are wonderful; particularly the praline mousse.

Subtract out all else, and a restaurant must have good food. Mona exceeds "good" and "excellent" by a country mile (1.609 km). Bring an appetite, as the portions are large, exceeded only by their quality. The tortellini stuffed with a butter and Calvados infused veal liver, covered with butter sauce and cheese was nothing less than historical. The fish entree was just as good. Service is friendly, efficient, and accomodating. This is much more of a European restaurant in terms of the menu than a traditional Israeli one. However, this only shows the expansion of the Israeli kitchen to accomodate tourists from anywhere, as well as discerning locals. Needless to state, the English level expertise was at a college graduate level, much better than what I see here in the USA.
