Tmol Shilshom
- Price $$$$
Bookstore, coffee house and restaurant, Tmol Shilshom has been an integral part of the Jerusalem landscape for the past 15 years. At least twice a week, the hosts sessions with top Israeli writers, who read and chat about their stories and poems.
What makes it unique is the blend of people who regard it as their favorite spot from the gay community to religious Jews, locals and tourists. A new menu was recently launched by chefs Mazzen Shweicky and Yaron Winkler offering a combination of French and oriental dishes.
The most recommended meals include the salmon filet, the eggplant, cheese and spinach lasagna and the homemade creme brule.

This location is a hidden gem. Don’t miss it, its not easy to find...you will see a sign with an arrow... not clear were to continue. You will have to turn into a narrow ally towards like a back garden/terrace, there to the left at the end of the alley you will have arrived....

You will have to turn into a narrow ally towards like a back garden/terrace, there to the left at the end of the alley you will have arrived. This location is unpretentious but so charming, ambiance is super relaxed, decorated with books and art posters with a cultural and artistry touch. The service is excellent and the food delicious... it has indoor and outdoor seating. We had the shakshuka, gnocci, with salad. Do not miss the bread, it is freshly baked...,We order a local wine with the help of Michal our helpful server. Food was excellent, we had a great time.
LessIf I’m ever in Jerusalem again I will be dining here! The restaurant has an old world charm mixed with modern day style. It feels as though you are a special guest in a friends home, rather than a patron at a restaurant. The food is fantastic and the staff are friendly and welcoming....
