I have been coming to Tmol shilshom for years. Each time I bring a friend who doesn't know it, they are amazed at the lovely atmosphere. It's hard to find among the tiny backstreets and old courtyards of Nahalat Shiva, but worth looking for! And its worth the climb up a steep flight of steps. Once you get there, it is hard to choose whether to be outside on the shabby chic balcony, or inside in the old Jerusalem stone rooms surrounded by second hand books. Like eating in a bookshop. The cafe has evenings with poetry readings and music. I brought my 15yr old granddaughter and she loved it. We shared an excellent shakshuka with a well dressed salad with seasonal vegetables, and then treated ourselves to a fantastic brownie cake with excellent vanilla icecream (also shared, I hasten to add!) . The only criticism I have was that they were out of decaf coffee . the waitress was charming and happy for us to share portions. No reason not to come again ... and again.. and again

The eggplant and the wine is good and the cafe is quite hipsterish (also many people eating there alone and are on laptops) which is good. With 100 EUR/2 persons for a simple meal its quite on the price tbh, but Ok.

Took the “kids” for a night out. We had good food, very friendly service and a great atmosphere. Mixed crowd. Great location. Will be back.
