Street Food Meets Gourmet
Tommy’s is what happens when a world-class chef like Tomer Reuveni (from 1868 and Ecalyptus) decides to introduce fine dining and gourmet cooking styles to the street food scene in Jerusalem. After spending more than a few years abroad and falling in love with the flourishing street food scene, Tomer has returned to Israel and decided to take matters into his own hands. The result: Tommy’s – a top-quality steakhouse located at the heart of the First Station complex. Tommy’s restaurant offers a kosher meat menu with a gourmet touch, delicious hamburgers and sandwiches with all sorts of toppings, a variety of snacks, soft drinks, and alcohol. This is the perfect place to stop by for a nutritious lunch sandwich, have a burger and a beer on a chill night out with your friends, or even a small birthday celebration.
What’s on the Menu?
The restaurant prides itself with their 220g homemade 100% rib eye steak burger, a classic Philly steak sandwich with caramelized onion and mushrooms, and an amazing chicken fajita – steak slices with onions & peppers in homemade chili sauce. Their French fries and sweet potato fries are highly recommended as well. To wash it all down, you’ll find a wide range of soft drinks and beers. Tommy’s also offers a fantastic kid’s menu with panko coated chicken fingers, mini-burger sliders, or the classic choice of hot dogs in a bun. All dishes are handmade, using the freshest ingredients, and the menu gets a top chef treatment every single day. Bon appetite!

MoreI ordered takeaway from Tommy's on KKL street which is a five minutes bus ride away from me. Up to an hour and a quarter, they said. It took an hour and three quarters, but it was nearly Passover and the height of the corona epidemic, so I forgive them. But the food was not up to scratch. The Tommy's burger was dry, tasteless and lacking in most of the advertised vegetables and the dijon mustard. And it was COLD. Who wants to eat a cold burger? The salads were somewhat better, although it annoyed me that the Thai salad which advertised cherry tomatoes didn't have any, just lots of wedges of ordinary tomatoes which overwhelmed the pineapple and hot pepper. And the Tommy's salad did not have either the advertised pecans or the balsamic vinaigrette. If there were supply problems due to corona, they should have said so on the phone. Not an experience I want to repeat.

MoreTommy's is close to the apartment so I walk by it twice a day taking my granddaughter to Gan. I had take out with the family and then went again myself when I was missing some good 'ole USA grub. The Asado Burger is great, freshly made, perfect bun and all the goodies you can stand. The mixed fries were hot and not too greasy and add a cold beer and i could have been back in Atlanta. nThe guys behind the counter are friendly and although I've had meals there three our of the last 4 weeks, I know I'll happily be back.
