Really good moderate priced option just inside jaffa gate

In a quiet courtyard off the hectic jaffa gate. Varied menu. Tasty food. Moderately priced. Good wine and beer. Friendly staff. Just what we needed when tired after a hectic day site seeing.

Friendly and welcoming - an excellent find

We had a stressful journey getting from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem so ventured out to find somewhere for dinner. We're so glad we tried Versavee - they were very friendly and welcoming and we had some delicious food. So much so, we went back the following night and were welcomed like old friends! Delicious salmon carpaccio which was actually a large salad rather than just a plate of smoked salmon. The second night I had the hot salmon which was roasted and very delicious. A great find as you can sit outside up a quiet and picturesque street which gives you lots of atmosphere but gets you out of the busy city. Nice wine served too - I had a rose which although quite dark pink was actually very dry and tasty. Quite reasonable prices too and well worth a visit. Thanks to the nice guy who served us the first night, we had a good number of Hebrew phrases which served us well. Toda raba!

After stumbling across this restaurant in the Armenian Quarter one evening it became a favourite to which we returned a few times. It is hard to find fault and we even forgave them for losing our order on one occasion and enjoyed the free drink that they gave us while waiting for our meal. All food we had was enjoyable (although I found the lentil soup a bit thin) and the service by the young guys was excellent. I was very happy to discover the Palestinian 'Shepherd's' beer.
