The unique designs of the renowned artist Avi Luvaton combine modern aesthetics and Jewish tradition, and create a change in the world of Judaica. For Avi Luvton, Judaica is not only a traditional object, but an art for its own sake. Each and every one of his designs was born out of uncompromising attention to the smallest details, and made of the highest quality materials. The commitment and dedication of Avi Luvton to refresh and renew Jewish art has been going on for 25 years. Inspiration leads him to experience in innovative production processes and to the constant bursting of design boundaries. The materials are carefully chosen by Luvton from all corners of the world and arrive at the studio located at the Artists' Colony in Hutzot Hayotzer, Jerusalem.
Luvton pioneered design combined state of the art technology with ancient Jewish tradition: the new case he designed for Sephardic Torah Book is an example of the combination of tradition and innovation. The case is made of carbon fibers - a material characterized by high strength and hardness yet very light weight and sculptural possibilities, similar to the body of a Boeing 787. Carbon fibers are woven in different molds and produced according to the character chosen by the artist for the level of stiffness, Shape etc. The case is designed in a modern and clean line, with magnetic closure for maximum protection of the Torah scroll. Other examples of innovative techniques that contribute to the uniqueness of Luvaton's Judaica artifacts are expressed in the candelabra he design using the well-known Italian Murano's glass blowing, glass cutting and working with meticulous carving mechanisms, a natural marble bread cutting board and artists hand-painted Tulip Shabbat candlesticks. It is the dedication of Avi Luvton that leads his unusual works to the museums and homes of art collectors around the world.
