Zel Lederman

Born in Australia, I settled in Jerusalem more than three decades ago. I live in incredible Jerusalem with my wife Riza and have two grown-up sons living in Israel. 

<p>This private tour is all about discovering the Jerusalem and Dead Sea region that you want to see.</p><h2>Day 1</h2><p>We recommend spending your first day in Jerusalem and either getting a general overview of the city and main sites or choosing a specific aspect you'd like to explore in more depth, such as:</p><ul><li>An in depth tour of one of the Old City's 4 quarters or a historical neighborhood in the New City</li><li>A culinary tour of the Old City and Mahane Yehuda (Yes, please!)</li><li>An overview of the diverse array of communities that call Jerusalem home</li></ul><h2>Day 2</h2><p>The Dead Sea region is the lowest point on Earth and home to some of Israel's most beautiful natural wonders and important historical and archaeological sites. With 10-12 hours of touring, there's generally enough time to get a glimpse of everything, but there are some parts that you might want to spend some more time on:</p><h3>Archeology and history</h3><ul><li>The Qumran caves are the site of one of the most important archaeological discoveries in the Middle East -- the Dead Sea Scrolls.</li><li>Masada is famous as the spot where the Jews made their tragic last stand against the Romans and home to impressive ruins from that time period</li><li>Nature</li><li>The Dead Sea is a magical place, where you can float in the salty waters. You might want to spend some extra time relaxing, getting in a healthy mud bath and taking lots of pictures!</li><li>Ein Gedi is a beautiful oasis in the desert that nature lovers won't want to miss. The hike is fairly easy, and kids will love it!</li><li>Religion: &nbsp;Check out the&nbsp;Inn of the Good Samaritan, local desert monastery the Jordan River Baptismal site and learn about Judaism and Christianity in the Second Temple period at the Qumran caves and Masada.</li></ul>
