What to expect

We embark on a journey eastward from Jerusalem towards the Dead Sea, passing the Inn of the Good Samaritan and traversing the Judean Desert. We briefly stop at the Sea Level mark before reaching Jericho, an ancient city mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments. In Jericho, we visit the sycamore tree associated with Zacchaeus and reflect on Jesus' time in the wilderness at nearby Mount Temptation.

Our journey then takes us to Bethlehem, the birthplace of both Jesus and King David's father. In Manger Square, we enter the Church of the Nativity, built in the 4th century over the grotto where Jesus was born. Inside, we observe the Grotto of the Nativity, the Manger, and an altar to the three Wise Men. We also visit the Crusader Church of Saint Catherine and the underground grotto where Saint Jerome translated the Bible into Latin.

Next, we stop at the Milk Grotto where Mary nursed Jesus, and then proceed to Shepherds Field. Here, an Angel of the Lord appeared to shepherds on Christmas night to announce the birth of the savior.
