Your guide will pick you up from your hotel at your scheduled departure time. From there, you'll descend 1,200 meters from Jerusalem, stopping along the way at the sites you've chosen with your guide.

The ancient fortress of Masada is steeped in history and legend as the site where the Jews made their last stand against the Romans. Rather than be conquered, it is said that the residents chose to end their own lives as the legion closed in.

In addition to the stories, Masada is also home to impressive ruins from the Roman era, including Herod's palace, a synagogue and an aqueduct.

These ancient caves were once home to the ancient Jewish sect that penned the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest original copy of the Bible ever discovered. Archaeologists first uncovered the scrolls in the mid-20th century, and you can see parts of them on display in Jerusalem at the Israel Museum's Shrine of the Book.
