Nazareth

Known best as the childhood home of Jesus, the eclectic city of Nazareth is home to a number of holy Christian sites, including the Church of Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph. Additionally, there is a charming old city and some of the best shawarma, Middle Eastern kebabs and knafe.

The Sea of Galilee

An absolutely fascinating part of Israel from a cultural, religious and historical perspective, the Sea of Galilee's shores were the the home of Jesus' early ministry and many of his miracles described in the New Testament. From a Jewish perspective, much of the Jerusalem Talmud (Talmud Yerushalmi) was compiled in Tiberias.
