The ancient fortress of Masada is steeped in history and legend as the site where the Jews made their last stand against the Romans. Rather than be conquered, it is said that the residents chose to end their own lives as the legion closed in.
In addition to the stories, Masada is also home to impressive ruins from the Roman era, including Herod’s palace, a synagogue and an aqueduct.
Ein Gedi National Park
Walk the beautiful trail of Ein Gedi to the oasis itself and swim in the waters of David’s Falls, where David hid from King Saul’s pursuit.
You can also discover the Ein Gedi Synagogue, which possesses a mysterious and beautiful 3rd-century mosaic.
The Dead Sea

One of the greatest wonders of the world, the salty waters of the Dead Sea attract countless visitors every year. Relax on the shores and float in the waters, grab a healthy mud bath enjoy some rays of sun without worrying about getting sunburned and, most of all, take in the beautiful views!
Qumran
These ancient caves were once home to the ancient Jewish sect that penned the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest original copy of the Bible ever discovered. Archaeologists first uncovered the scrolls in the mid-20th century, and you can see parts of them on display in Jerusalem at the Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book.
