We were looking for something interesting, exciting, active and personalized for the short time we had in the Negev Desert. We were put in touch with Dana Meir and could not have been more thrilled with the trip she had planned for us. We were collected early and taken to her home to get kitted up for a mountain bike ride in the desert. Dana herself is an excellent rider and gave us fantastic tips and tricks to riding in this rocky, sandy terrain. We loved every second of our ride, particularly the refreshing dip into the water hole that we rode to. We learned about the history and geography of the area and tasted not only the wonderful salt bush, but also the delicious dates that Dana provided us to “munch on” midway through. After the ride we toured around the Ben Gurion burial site and desert house which was fantastic. We could not have asked for a better day, we were exhausted but so much richer for having spent the day with this incredible guide. This really was a personalized tour, and you cannot get better than that.

Definitely do the tour with this group. We had a wonderful time and learned so much! Each of our guides were fabulous and by the end of the tour we felt like old friends. The guides were able to suggest alternatives and adjust to meet the needs of my children. And all took us to great places to eat. Each guide gave us a different perspective and insight. Very enlightening. Zel took care of coordinating everything and the guides coordinated between each other to make sure there wasn't any duplication. Great experience and a huge burden lifted from me. Definitely worth it! Excellent service and excellent people.

I asked a friend who had traveled to Jerusalem if he could suggest a guide. He said he was very happy with the tour Zel gave him and, indeed, had referred Zel to another one of our friends who was also very satisfied. With these recommendations, I used Zel for four days of touring that included Jerusalem, Masada, the countryside and Caesarea. I join my friends in praising Zel! He has an in-depth knowledge of the history of the area—going back thousands of years--as well as the current political and social climate. He shared perspective about Israel’s security challenges. And he asked about our interests and suggested excursions that met our goals and needs. For example, he learned I was a docent at an art museum and took us to the Israeli Museum which was an astonishing experience for me as I looked at ancient art works. On another level, but one that pleased us, he led us to one of the best falafel places in Jerusalem and steered us past the “trinket” shops in the Old City to two high-quality fabric and ceramic shops. Spending time with him was a pleasure as Zel is not only well-informed but a warm and engaging person.
