Distribution: Nachshon Films, Red Cape
Summary:
“Parasites,” the intriguing movie from the South Korean director Bong Joon-ho (“The Host”, “Snowpiercer,” “Okja”) was warmly received at the last Cannes Film Festival and had been awarded the Palme d’Or. This time, it is a dramedy that tells the story of a low-income family. Every one of the sons is breaking in turns into a mansion of a wealthy family, up until the twist in the plot. The plan goes astray, and the parasites are drifting into a vortex that takes the viewers to the realms of imagination. Bong is one of the ground-breaking directors of our time. His talent allows combining genres and styles for creating sophisticated and mesmerizing cinematic masterpieces. His movies are a captivating experience of the art of film, and “Parasites” are no exception – this is a social, smart satire that sheds light on a global social issue in an original and enlightening manner, with plenty of creativity and brilliant plotting.
