<p>Among the events, exhibitions, and exhibits at the Hansen House:</p><ul><li>An integrated exhibition led by designer Shachar Kedem in collaboration with the Natural History Museum examines the response of local artists to the act of taxidermy, influencing nature and other aspects of the complex relationship between humans and their surroundings.</li><li>Dr. Jonathan Ventura and Galit Bo are curating an exhibition on a mobilized design that will reveal how objects and consumer products are harnessed as mechanisms for spreading social messages.</li><li>TYPOMANIA, a group of graphic designers from Moscow presents works by designers from all over the world as part of an exhibition of posters dedicated to discussing truth and falsehood.</li><li><p>The "Matchmaker" project will deal with urban—Jerusalem mythologies, managed by the new matchmakers Noa Rich and Yochai Alush. The project brings together designers, storytellers, and guides from Jerusalem who will discuss iconic buildings throughout the city and create new and surprising memories of the places, the people, and the stories behind them.</p><p>&nbsp;</p></li></ul><p>The spaces of the design and research academies will function as shop windows; an avenue of pavilions of prophets and fortune-tellers will offer passers-by false and true predictions about their future. &nbsp; Throughout the Hansen House, there will be additional exhibits and events dedicated to manipulation, man-machine, wizardry in design, propaganda, and more.<br>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Participate and be impressed and inspired by design exhibitions by local and international activists, and take part in unique events and installations. &nbsp;Every year, festival guests will enjoy dozens of exhibitions, installations, events, and unique projects featuring dozens of local and international designers. &nbsp;The theme of this year's event is "Lies and Falsehoods" a phenomenon that accompanies us from the dawn of humanity, from Adam and Eve in Paradise, to the present day.&nbsp;</p><p><br>While this topic was always prevalent in human cultures, nowadays it has gained an unprecedented momentum.&nbsp; The digital age has brought about a fundamental undermining of all that is considered to be authentic and the truth.&nbsp; &nbsp;Fake news, deepfake, and deliberate deception have become an integral part of our reality. &nbsp;As part of Jerusalem Design Week 2023, his role will be discussed by the designers.&nbsp; &nbsp;Among others, the event will examine the meaning of illusions – through works that hide the truth and create parallel realities.&nbsp; &nbsp;Other creations are dedicated to discovery and exposure, along with the possibility of truth and authenticity in the form of lies and falsehood.</p><p><br>Design Week hosts exhibitions and encourages outstanding collaborations between artists and cultural institutions.</p>

The permanent exhibitions of the Israel Museum

<p>Anatoly Kaplan (born in 1902 in the town of Rogachov, a small shtetl in what is now Belarus; died in Leningrad in 1980) was one of the major Jewish-Soviet artists of the 20th century. Kaplan’s artistic oeuvre includes Jewishly-themed artistic creations for Jewish literature, depictions of Jewish life, and of Rogachov, his beloved town of birth. Many of Kaplan’s works have never been exhibited in Israel. Compared to Chagall and Soutine, the artist was never permitted to leave the Soviet Union. The exhibition will be shown at Beit Avi Chai between the months of January and August 2023.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Opening hours:</strong> Sunday-Thursday 10:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m. Friday – 09:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.</p>

<p>For the first time in Israel, the Beit Avi Chai Gallery will present a retrospective exhibition of the artist Anatoly Kaplan. The exhibition discusses Israeli manhood in 2022 through works by 21 female artists and creators, representing diverse views on local masculinity.

In recent years we have seen an increasing preoccupation with the concept of masculinity and the changes it underwent, putting the male ethos under dissolution and being re-created anew, along with the ideas and stereotypes that characterize it.

The exhibition seeks to look inward, re-examine and challenge the conventions of our lives, while tracing different perceptions, models, and patterns of Israeli masculinity, for the purpose of producing an open and accessible discussion of gender equality.

The exhibition lays out a wide range of views on local masculinity (including comedic, dramatic, political, and critical representations) that evoke thought and express the changing discourse.

<p style="text-align:justify;">Hutzot Hayotzer can be translated as “the Creator Steps Out,” which is exactly what happens. Dozens of artists meet at this event, showcasing their creations, selling their crafts and allowing thousands to take in what Jerusalem and the world have to offer.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Hutzot Hayotzer is held at one of Jerusalem’s most unique venues, Sultan’s Pool, which creates the perfect ambiance for this summer festival. Just at the foot of the Old City, this valley and its surrounding areas sit adjacent to the permanent artist colony, also named Hutzot Hayotzer.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Visitors stroll from stand to stand, taking in local and international artisans’ work from watches to hammocks to paintings, often being sold by the original artists, and much more. From the depths of the Sultan’s Pool, entrenched in the earth’s Jerusalem stone, with the Old City lit up in the background and the stars above, the romantic, artistic, and friendly environment envelops guests.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The festival, produced by Ariel Company, includes nightly live concerts and dance performances by famous Israeli artists, as well as many food stands and workshops scheduled throughout.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The fair is a great place to purchase art and functionally designed items. A great opportunity to support the local artistic community. <strong>ARTISTA</strong> - an exhibition of lit outdoor installations designed by Philip Blau – dive into a magical world of creatures from alien galaxies projected from the starry night. Here you can walk around the structure of larger-than-life characters. The space will present 16 designed installations spanning the central area of the fair, creating a magically illuminated exposition, manifesting an entire adventure in both light and dark. At the center of the experience the main bar will be placed, from which there will be spread out four stages. They will serve as a seating area and performance stage for various surprising elements that will emerge during the evening. This year's theatrical performance combines dancers, actors, and theater artists in sparkling costumes, in a special black-and-white and gold design that will enhance the magical ambiance of the surroundings. A mix of levitation, acrobatics and dance in the air with larger-than-life elements and the sound of magical music. Instagram Photography Exhibition - An exhibition of three-dimensional photography walls, inspired by famous artworks, a perfect backdrop for a selfie. <strong>The Black Box Gallery</strong> – the world's first peeking gallery created by the artist and performer Lior Khalfon – the "Black Box Gallery" will be placed on the fair's square and provide a first-of-its-kind glimpse into the art world. The portable gallery is built inside a giant container and includes peepholes placed at different heights, adapted for each age, so everyone can have a glimpse of another world together. <h2>A Boutique Food Festival straight from Italy to Jerusalem at Inbal Hotel</h2>
Following the success of the Winter Soup Festival,<a href="https://itraveljerusalem.com/accommodation/the-inbal-jerusalem-hotel/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Inbal Hotel</a> is launching a new culinary celebration – this time in a summer edition - Focaccia and Antipasti.

Chef Eric Attias has created a rich buffet, and you are welcome to join the joy, and eat as much as you like. Dozens of kinds of vegetables in various forms of preparation – roasted, cooked, grilled, smoked – with a variety of focaccias on the side await you.
Thick, fragrant, and soft – the focaccia is simply an irresistible treat.

Its classic version originated in the city of Genoa in the Liguria region, rich with olive oil and herbs through a cheese-filled pastry dough.

And there are various versions with summer vegetables, baked in a powerful gas tabun oven, built especially for the hotel, reaching exceptionally high temperatures.

Attias serves Italian pastry in a variety of ways: dumplings filled with mozzarella and spinach, based on polenta flour, mushrooms, or topped with zucchini carpaccio and goat feta, topped with spreads and jams of onion, cherry tomato, and eggplant.

The focaccias serve as side dishes for a rich antipasti buffet, including big pumpkins served in date syrup, tahini, and roasted pumpkin seeds; smoked kohlrabi with touches of passion fruit and mint; pears cooked in wine; carrots cooked in anise; seared yellow peppers with fresh oregano and garlic; zucchini in tangy yogurt; grilled hot peppers with garlic salsa and herbs. And on top of that – gazpacho soups and chilled tzatziki.

<p><span style="font-weight:400;">&nbsp;</span> A delicious summer awaits you in Jerusalem during July-August, colorful food trucks will be parked in the Gey Ben Hinnom park near the Old City and will offer you a wide selection of the chef's dishes from the restaurants that make the culinary scene in Jerusalem and at attractive prices! Each week, &nbsp;4 restaurants will be hosted and offer changing and high-quality chef dishes at special summer prices. &nbsp;In addition to the trucks you can enjoy an alcohol bar and huge drinks, live good music from changing DJs and bands that will lift the atmosphere.</p><p>You are invited to sit at the bar or on mats and beanbags and enjoy the Jerusalem fresh evening air and the good food. Among the restaurants that will participate in this year's event, you will find favorite restaurants such as Joy Mamilla, Rachel Beshdra, Fury, Peacock Bar, Hamburger Segev, Jacko Sun, Luciana, Ishtabah, Tomiz, Kadama Mamilla, Machane Asada, Redifine Meat and more. And as in every year, the prices of the chef's dishes will be anywhere from $9-$12.&nbsp;</p>
