Over the past couple of years, Georgie's has established itself as the address for hungry people that need their food quickly, but don't want to compromise on health or taste.

Located on the corner of King George, Georgie's menu is quite simple. First you choose between beef, turkey or a vegetable (sweet potatoes or cauliflower), then you choose a sauce (goulash, thai, barbecue, or the special of the day), then either rice or ptitim (Jerusalem cous cous), and then you choose which fresh vegetables and herbs you'd like. Once the guy working the counter has mixed up your meat/vegetable and the sauce, it all goes in a "Chinese" takeout box, and you eat it -- simple, tasty and healthy.

A bit of advice, while the regular sauces are certainly all delicious, make sure you check out the daily special, which can be anything from Mexican or Indonesian to Ethiopian or Moroccan. There is always a sample bowl with bits of pita bread for a quick taste.

In addition to tasty boxed meals, Georgie's has also added specialty sausages to its menu, including Angus beef, mergaz (Moroccan) and Brazilian beef, all of which can be served on a bun with either mustard and sauerkraut or  a sauce and fresh vegetables.

Georgie Pitta is part of the growing "kosher without a certificate" restaurant community, which means that their ingredients, storage and preparation are all kosher, and the restaurant is not open on Shabbat, but they do not have a certificate from a recognized kashrut supervisor.
