There's nothing like wandering the Old City's alleyways to experience Jerusalem's magic. Start at Jaffa Gate, explore the picturesque lanes of the Jewish Quarter, visit historic sites, and finish with a spectacular view of the city. If you're visiting with children, turn your outing into a journey through stories, legends, and historical treasures, with an interactive activity to keep the whole family engaged.

Our tip: Explore the family activities, puzzles, and challenges at the Tower of David Museum, right at the entrance to the Old City.

2. Enjoy Culture, Art, and Family Activities at the Israel Museum

Looking for a day out that combines fun, culture, and activities for the whole family? The Israel Museum is a chance to discover works of art, archaeological finds, the Shrine of the Book, and the impressive model of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period.

On Election Day, October 27, the museum is planning a special activity called "Elections 2026 at the Israel Museum", inviting visitors to join tours of selected works and vote for the work that best represents Israel. The museum's website also features additional family activities for the day.

The "Elections" tours will be offered in Hebrew and English at 13:00, 14:30, and 16:00. They will take in some of the nominated exhibits and explore the question: What is the most Israeli thing in the Israel Museum?

You can cast your vote in a ballot box at the museum.
The tours are included with museum admission, and places are limited. Admission for children is also free!

Our tip: Set aside a few hours for your visit and check opening hours and event details in advance on the official website.

A day off in Jerusalem is the perfect excuse to visit Mahane Yehuda Market. With colorful stalls and the aromas of fresh pastries, spices, fruit, and tempting food, it's a Jerusalem experience that engages all the senses.

Start with breakfast at a cafe, sample your way around the stalls, discover distinctive shops, and finish with coffee or dessert on one of the nearby streets.

Our tip: Don't limit yourself to the market's main thoroughfares. Make time for the surrounding streets and alleyways, where plenty of interesting places are tucked away.

Explore escape rooms, self-guided navigation games, guided family tours, and interactive activities across the city.
It's a great option for families with older children and teens who want to experience Jerusalem a little differently.

Our tip: Choose an activity based on the participants' ages, how much time you have, and the area you'd like to explore, and check whether you need to book ahead.
