Remnants of it can be found in every fistful of dirt – jewelry, seal prints, ancient weapons, decorated flooring tiles from the Temple, and countless other special items that will fill up the pages of history.</p><p>And you and your family can contribute to that.</p><p>Over 200,000 people have already taken part in the sifting work, with thousands of diverse remains uncovered – the names of each person who found them were marked as well, being mentioned in the media in Israel and around the world.</p><h3>SO WHAT’S THE STORY IN A NUTSHELL?</h3><p>It all started in 1999 when illegal construction work on the Temple Mount was initiated by the Muslim Waqf.<br>To protect the historical value of the soil, huge amounts of earth containing archaeological remains of the temple were excavated and evacuated to Kedron Creek.<br>Since the Temple Mount is inaccessible for archaeological excavation, sifting the dirt removed from it provides a rare opportunity to uncover the archaeological treasures that remained hidden in the mountain’s soil.</p><p>Is the idea of discovering items of Jewish history excite you?<br>Take the role of an archaeologist for a day and help save and uncover ancient relics from the most important site in the heritage of the People of Israel!</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The largest stretch of picnic greenery in Jerusalem, Gan Sacher (or Sacher Park) (pronounced Sah-kehr) is situated between the Nachlaot and Rehavia neighborhoods on one side, and the complex of government buildings and museums in Givat Ram, Gan Sacher is the largest green space in Jerusalem.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The expanse of grass is large enough that it only gets crowded during a concert, or when thousands of Israeli revelers converge on the park en masses for the annual Independence Day grill fest. The trees on the edges of the grass provide sufficient shade for a sprawling picnic spread, while the un-shaded areas are large enough to support a game of ultimate Frisbee.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">More activity-specific facilities include basketball courts, soccer pitches, tennis courts, a bike path (which extends for several kilometers beyond the park), a large children’s playground, an exercise park, and the Bird Observatory. It's also a short walking distance to the Israel Museum and Bible Lands Museum. Definitely a place to go in good weather.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Opened in 2001, Mini Israel in Latrun near to Jerusalem showcases hundreds of models (most of them no more than seven inches) of nearly all the important archaeological, historical and religious sights in Israel.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Independence Park is a large green area in the center of Jerusalem, bounded by King George Street to the West, Agron Street to the south, Hillel Street to the north and the old Mamilla Cemetery to the east. During the time of the British Mandate, the Park was an open area that served as a barrier between the Jewish city center and the upscale Arab neighborhoods to the south. After Jerusalem was partitioned in the 1948 War of Independence, the nascent Israeli government decided that the area would become a green area; thus Independence Park was established in 1959.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">During the daylight hours, the Park mostly serves the many people who work in the center of town and like to have their lunches outside. Families from around the area come to hang out, picnic and kick a ball around, and young people can often be spotted leisurely sipping beers in the shade of the large pine trees. But like its namesake park in Tel-Aviv, after night falls, under a thick blanket of darkness, Independence Park becomes a rendezvous spot for members of Jerusalem’s gay community. It is this function that has made the Park a convergence point for many LGBT events, including the annual gay pride parade. Other events held at Independence Park include the yearly Student’s Day celebrations when thousands turn out to enjoy live music performances.</p>
