The tour will start from George Washington St. and continue south through the Mesilla Park and toward Armon Hanatziv promenades. The Sherover Promenade with its typical Israeli vegetation will take us up to the Haas Promenade. There we'll stop for some refreshments and will drink some water or hot tea (depends on the season), observe the Old City, the Temple Mount, the City of David and Mount of Olives while listening to captivating explanations and stories.From here, we'll continue our way to the Goldman promenade, and from there we'll see the Judean desert and if we're lucky and the day is clear – we'll even see the Dead Sea! After the observation, we'll continue north, and on our way to the Old City, we'll pass by the Tower of David and the Mamilla pedestrian mall.We'll stop at IDF Square to rest and listen to fascinating stories about the Old City and later enter it through the New Gate. The Train Theater began as a collaboration of four artists, independent puppeteers: &nbsp;Michael Shuster, Alina Ashbal, Hadas Ofrat and the late Mario Kotliar. &nbsp;The theater began its journey in a train car that was brought to the bell garden in Jerusalem and over the years grew to become a locomotive, the main creative force and inspiration in everything related to the puppet theater in Israel. In August 2021, the theater moved to its new residence - the Davidson Residence.The theater repertoire expresses the artistic languages ​​in the interrelationship between the content and the style: the space, the text, the images, the material, the object and the puppet, according to the age of the spectators. The productions are carefully selected by an artistic committee under the direction of the artistic director.Theater performances are staged in Jerusalem throughout the country and overseas and receive recognition and awards in Israel and the world. The light fits majestically with music and explanations of about these works of art.The Chain of Generations Center took seven years to build and includes archaeological finds astonishingly discovered during its construction, and thereby integrated into an exhibit. The foundations of the ''Room of Yearning'' include a wall from the period of the First Temple, Crusader walls, a Mamluk ceiling, and a mikveh (ritual bath) from Second Temple times. A huge column ''sprouts'' from this floor, symbolizing the yearning for Zion.A tour of the center culminates in the ''Hall of Light,'' which shares the moving story of Rabbi Yisrael Halevi, a Jew whose entire life was a song of yearning for Jerusalem, and who was taken to a concentration camp in Poland and never reached the Holy City. A paratrooper, Moshe Amirav, in the battle for Jerusalem in 1967 heard the tale from one of Rabbi Yisrael’s students who survived the Holocaust. This story encapsulates the central message of the Chain of Generations Center and its theme of hope despite pain.The tour is suitable for groups of 12-25 participants, is wheelchair accessible and takes approximately an hour. All family members will try themselves in real archaeological work, becoming real-life archaeologists seeking historical relics in the soil.

On-site, you’ll take walks around the battle canals, bunkers, armored vehicles from 1948, half-track tank, and an audio-visual presentation that will tell you the moving stories of victory that took place here. It is the setting of the hardest battle the Israeli army led with the Jordanians, but that’s not the reason this spot attracts so many visitors. The veterans are still present in the canals, sharing their fascinating stories about Jerusalem. You’ll get the chance to touch these stones, feel their roughness, hide in the narrow bunkers and look on the view that opens from the slits. Another essential item in the area is a small cardboard sign, on which the warriors expressed in writing the respect they have for their enemy, which teaches us a lot about human dignity.&nbsp;A new multimedia museum was established in the area three years ago. There you can walk in the caves and hear the excited voices announcing “The Temple Mount ours!” to see the flag that was hoisted over the Western Wall at the end of the battle, hear the original announcements of the IDF’s Spokesman and more. The tour in the Heritage Center includes an audio-visual presentation telling the story of veterans telling their personal war stories to their grandchildren. <h2>About Plugat Hakotel -&nbsp;Western Wall Squad</h2>Eighty years after it was shut down by the British Mandate, the House of the Western Wall Platoon reopened! Prepare for an exciting and experiential journey, accompanied by a historical drama about the structure. The exceptional house, which tells an extraordinary Jewish-Zionist story, is open to the general public and visitors, initiated by the Betar World Movement.&nbsp;The museum, located in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, will tell, for the first time, from beginning to end, the story of the Western Wall platoon. The company consisted of young members of the Betar movement who protected the Old City as a counterweight to British restrictions on Jewish existence at the Western Wall. The story of their heroism focuses on the same structure that served them as a residence. The group's story, which was almost forgotten in the history of the Jewish Museum in Eretz Israel, begins with the events of 1929, which led to&nbsp;strict restrictions on the Jewish presence in the city and the Western Wall. The British decided to impose sanctions on Jews, who found themselves in serious trouble. The Betarite group did not accept the decree quietly and decided to do something - to blow the shofar sound from the walls of the Old City every Yom Kippur. Indeed, at the end of every Yom Kippur, from 1930 to 1948, the Betar youth sneaked up to the Western Wall and blew the shofar.&nbsp;They did so despite&nbsp;knowing that if they were caught (and some were caught), they would be held in prison for several months under harsh conditions. In 1937, there were many attacks on the Jews of the Old City by Arab rioters. As a result of the many incidents, it was decided to establish a Betar company that would remain there regularly to increase the security of the residents of the Jewish Quarter. Another reason for establishing the company was maintaining contact with the Wall and its surroundings. The company was stationed there until the middle of 1938 and was involved in numerous confrontations. The extensive activity of the company members formed the basis for the establishment of the Etzel Irgun. In the summer of 1938, the British decided to take action after several serious events that resulted in wounded and dead, and raided the house to block it. Despite the incident, the tradition of blowing the shofar continued by members who endangered their lives, until the establishment of the State in 1948.<h2>Experience History</h2>This unique museum is dedicated to telling the heroic story of the platoons through a series of dramatic films that will talk about the history of the Jewish boys and the tradition of blowing the shofar. Museum visitors will begin the tour with the story of the shofar and will continue to tell stories of the heroism of the Irgun members, who were brought up on the same values ​​instilled by the platoon. The main film tour is 35 minutes long, presenting the story dramatically and excitingly. The extensive exhibition spread over the three floors of Beit Avi Chai showcases the varied styles Litvinovsky worked with – from enchanted orientalism through Jewish themes and portraits of elected officials to abstract and diverse color works.Litvinovsky was not part of any artistic group; he rarely exhibited his works and never dated or named them. Apart from portraiture, he usually avoided selling his pieces. After his death, the painter’s estate numbered over 6,000 works, held in his studio in Jerusalem. However, the estate encountered various hardships over the years, culminating in a terrible destruction by the painter’s grandson, which reduced the thousands of works to only a few hundred. The exhibition “You Must Choose Life – That is Art” highlights the best of the remaining pieces, showcasing various playful, sensual, and spiritual artistic facets of Pinchas Litvinovsky’s legacy.The exhibition will feature an interactive stand, “Make yourself a Litvinovsky AI portrait,” where visitors can create their own Litvinovsky-style portrait using AI (Design: Alon Chitayat, software development: Avinoam Cooper).

A visit to the spectacular synagogue is a journey through the chronicles of the time, since the arrival of Rabbi Judah the Hassid ( Rabbi Judah the Pious) and his students to Jerusalem in the seventeenth century, through to the revival of the Ashkenazi community, the onset of the nineteenth century, the desperate battles to defend the Jewish Quarter in 1948, and until the restoration of the area that began in 1970.&nbsp;After complex reconstruction and building, which also revealed archeological findings from the Second Temple period, the inauguration of the Hurva Synagogue took place on Rosh Hodesh Nissan (1 Nissan) 5770 - 2010. Today, the synagogue’s dome once again graces the Jerusalem skyline. The synagogue received the nickname, The Ruin of Rabbi Judah the Hassid, and Ruin - or Hurva - for short. In 1864, the synagogue was impressively rebuilt and named Beit Yaakov; it became the symbol of the restoration of the settlement in the Land of Israel.&nbsp;In 1948, the synagogue was destroyed once again, this time by the Jordanians, who well knew the significance of the structure for the Jews of Jerusalem, as an indication that no longer would there be a Jewish presence in the city. Following the intricate reconstruction in 2006, the rebuilt Hurva Synagogue was completed in Nissan 5770 (2010). The synagogue is considered one of the most beautiful in the world and now holds regular prayer services each day, as well as special services on New Year, the Day of Atonement, the three pilgrim festivals (Passover, Shavuot, Sukkot), Memorial Day (Yom HaZikaron), Independence Day, and Jerusalem Day. Likewise, the synagogue holds bar mitzvah ceremonies, calls up to the Torah, and weddings where the canopy stands under the dome of heaven.&nbsp;The Hurva Synagogue is a showcase of majesty with its towering height and dome that adorns the Jerusalem skyline, murals, and splendid furnishings, a beautiful 11-meter ark that is the handwork of a craftsman, and its historical location over the remains of Jerusalem from its glory days of the temples. However, the synagogue’s significance is that it is a national center and symbol that declares the way to redemption. The current synagogue is a reconstruction of the monumental synagogue destroyed during the War of Independence.

These and other findings made it possible to produce an exciting and experiential audio-visual presentation describing and illustrating life during the turbulent period just prior to the destruction of the Temple. It attempts to reconstruct the events that occurred in this house at the time of Jerusalem’s destruction.<h2>An Extraordinary Audio-Visual Display</h2>The audio-visual display portrays life at the time of the destruction of Jerusalem at the end of the Second Temple era during 67-70 C.E. Taking into account the story of the archeological findings, as well as the political and social atmosphere of the day as narrated by the scriptures, the presentation weaves a moving and memorable experience.Dilemmas that existed at the time may well be the same dilemmas we face today. The museum invites you on a journey through time - an encounter with a Jerusalem family that lived at the time of the Second Temple and during The Great Revolt: the Katros family, whose house was discovered six meters below the Jewish Quarter. Who was the Katros family? How did the family members live their lives? What did they believe? What did they love? Why was their house burnt down and what fate did they meet?
