    Amazing Food

We ate at Mala Bistro in Ein Kerem on April 9 after visiting sites related to John the Baptizer. The Rustic Chicken was out of this world delicious! Not to mention the fresh off the oven bread. Simply an unforgettable meal.

Mala Bistro is located in the heart of Ein Kerem, a historic village (now one of Jerusalem's many neighborhoods) . The restaurant is in an old house, which in itself is beautiful and full of ambiance, and there is an outside area which is heated in winter and is accessible. We ordered a mushroom polenta for starters, a huge portion of beef to share, which was excellent, juicy and soft, and two chicken entrees which were also very good. The service was really friendly and efficient, and all our particular demands were met without a hitch. My only reservation is that their wine selection is rather limited, if you want to order by the glass. We had eaten at Mala Bistro before but not for a full dinner, and I'm sure we'll go again. Highly recommended for a meal with friends or an intimate dinner, but probably a bit too expensive to take the whole family.

The first course was nicely served and tasty. The main courses were both really difficult to eat, both of them were less than aedequat. The service was totally unorganised. All in all there is no reason to recomend this restaurant.
