Excellent gluten-friendly casual lunch in the Jewish Quarter

12,000+ steps by 1pm walking around the Old City, and my wife and I were starving. The Quarter Cafe -- right above the Burnt House in the middle of the Jewish Quarter -- was an excellent, quick stop for a filling lunch with a great view over the top of the old city. The cafe is a casual order-at-the-counter affair, and the gents behind the counter were extremely helpful in identifying gluten-free items for my allergic wife. She had the salmon and falafel both times we went (not sure what else there was) and both were delicious. They also have excellent gluten-free pita for dipping. Other entrees were tasty as well; I had an excellent mushroom quiche and a tasty cheese-filled pastry. Portion sizes are generous, and you can choose from a good selection of salads to accompany the meal. Good food and friendly service made us wish we had one more day to go again!

This is a diary and fish restaurant, which we found so, so refreshing considering all the other restaurants around. Service was outstanding, and the view took our breath away. Ask for the check only after you had their amazing salmon! Hope we'll be back soon. Amit.

Excellent food and scenic view

We ran to this restaurant thru our Jerusalem guide. We went back for a second time the next day as the food was excellent. We both ate vegetarian meal: hummus, tabouleh, Israeli salad. They were very tasty. We will certainly go back to eat here next time we are in Jerusalem.
